Ridgefield NWR 04-09-10

Finally the rain has let up!  I decided to head up to Ridgefield after work this afternoon... It was strange because I usually try to go first thing in the morning, but also cool because I saw a different variety of birds...

A couple of boring starlings that I found cute.

A Great Blue Heron walking along the road...

..and then flying away....

I'd never seen a Turkey Vulture at Ridgefield before...

So pretty.

A Common Yellowthroat on this random wire thing...

A little Savannah Sparrow..

I never get sick of Wood Ducks.

Another heron flying by....

Scaup..

Lots of Gadwalls out and about....

That was about it for photos... There were tons of swallows around, plus several harriers, hawks, etc...

  2. nice series of photos from the NWR - also in the previous post - and I appreciate that you can appreciate the starlings - it's not their fault that they are an exotic invasive - and this time of year their plumage is really quite stunning
