I had a mighty fine morning at Ridgefield yesterday.. It was cold but dry and there were quite a few birds out, some that I had not seen yet this year...
Red-winged Blackbird (female)
Great Blue Heron
Golden-crowned Kinglet
White-breasted Nuthatch
Song Sparrow
American Bittern
It was a very typical trip to Ridgefield with quite a few eagles, hawks, harriers also.. After that trip my January total was brought up to 80 birds! Hopefully I can add to that this weekend!

Fantastic Photos, great detail and sharpness--looks like Ridgefield is a super spot to bird! You gonna break your own record! Im rooting for ya!
ReplyDeleteCool pictures! Those American bitterns are sneaky some times. They blend right in.Good job with the GC Kinglet-they move around a lot and are so small-hard for me to get photos of them.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you don't tire from a particular venue.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding Kinglet. I've taken several, but never as clear. You can even see the yellow crown. They definitely should be diagnosed with ADD. :)
