Cooper Mountain Nature Park.

Yesterday afternoon I headed out to Cooper Mountain to enjoy the dry weather for a few hours.  Things were pretty tame, but it was still a nice walk.

I did find a roving mixed flock of chickadees, nuthatches, Bushtits, kinglets, and warblers...

 Red-breasted Nuthatch

Chestnut-backed Chickadee

 Townsend's Warbler

I found a bunch of bees at what I assume is a hive...

There are always lots of hummingbirds up there- I was hoping for a Rufous but came up with only Anna's...

For me one of the best things about Cooper Mountain is the resident Western Bluebirds.  I counted at least five on my walk...

Back in the parking area I accidentally interrupted a robin's bath.  He hopped up onto a branch and dried off...

That was about it... Good times!

  3. What a great outing Jen! It is a very pretty place. I love all the birds. especially the red-breasted nuthatch and the cute chestnut-backed Chickadee. Great shot of the Townsend's warbler. The Western Bluebird look a lot like our Eastern Bluebird. Great shots, happy birding!
