Force Lake Meeting!

Dearest local blog followers,
The Friends of Force Lake are having a visioning session on Wednesday, October 17th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Historic Kenton Firehouse (2209 N. Schofield St, Portland). And YOU are invited!

It's no secret that Force Lake has been a favorite little patch of mine.  It's not too far from home and is conveniently located near Vanport Wetlands, Mud and Columbia Sloughs, Smith & Bybee Lakes, and Heron Lakes Golf Course (if you're into that sort of thing).

The Friends of Force Lake, headed by the wonderful Christie Holmgren, have been making some great improvements at the lake including hosting clean-ups, removing blackberry plants, and planting native plants.  The lake already attracts tons of great birds (plus beavers, nutria, muskrats, coyotes...) and with a little help it could be even more awesome.  Consider coming to the meeting and throwing out your ideas for the lake!

If you are interested, please RSVP by sending an e-mail message to: information@friendsofforcelake.org

Feel free to share this info with anyone you think might be interested!

  1. Great landscape shots Jen.

Do they have a separate fund for interested out-of-town visitors, one that provides complimentary airplane flights?
