Bird quiz.

I saw a great bird the other day.  This was the only photo I managed to get:

Can you guess what it is?

  6. Yes it's an owl, tho I think Christian had insider info on this one. And Rhett, barnyard geese are pretty scary sometimes...

  7. Barn Owl! I misread the first line of this posting and thought this happened in your yard. I, too, had inside info and should have known - shucks!

Do you think your huge bins scared it off?

    1. Ah, I thought you were playing along just so others would keep guessing... Yes it must have been the bins.

    1. Yeah, it doesn't look like an owl at all.. There's a tiny part of it in the top left area..

    1. Oh I agree- it was a great experience even without a decent photo.

  10. Jen, taking nature photography in the direction and influences of modern art is a gutsy call. I admire your sand, even if my own preferences tend towards Otto Dix and the post WWI expressionists.

This photo really speaks to me...it's bleakness, its ambiguity, its calling out for identity...it all echoes in the depths of my beleaguered soul and resonates out to a cold northwestern beach, where someday this whole farcical oddity we call the human experience will end...and Vultures will pick at the remains.

The Owls will sign odes to your greatness, Big Bins Jen.
