It was quite a marvel to see the huge bird so close with it somewhat intimidating. When I see the Green Heron by itself, it often has me thinking it's larger than it should be. That Red-breasted Sapsucker would have been the subject of the day for me and would stick with it as long as possible.Bob Pelkeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00997363387535031988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8715459874050137252.post-22925727949858886542011-09-29T06:37:26.556-07:002011-09-29T06:37:26.556-07:00Great birding! Its breast is very buffy with drab, unclear spotting, whereas Hermit should show a whiter breast with darker, clearer spotting. I don't exactly know when Hermit starts showing up in the lowlands, but I haven't heard or seen any reports of them just yet.Rhett Wilkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12391405601958802301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8715459874050137252.post-86010274211376060172011-09-29T05:31:14.797-07:002011-09-29T05:31:14.797-07:00I agree with Birdnerd...pretty cool seeing the two...I agree with Birdnerd...pretty cool seeing the two herons side by side.Shellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00157219756117872512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8715459874050137252.post-37764098313778517882011-09-29T03:43:01.652-07:002011-09-29T03:43:01.652-07:00You had some great sightings.
