What a great collection of birds, from the Dipper to the Wood duck to the mergansers and the owls. And I love the dogs too. A great birding day! I'd never been there before so it was a real treat for all of us. I just love dippers and know I'm in a pretty great place when one is around. I just wish I could hear their pretty song more clearly but it's always obscured by fast rushing water! Thanks for the great photos, as ever.
LauraLaura W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11701595535440501873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8715459874050137252.post-17423927707071392592012-03-27T04:58:14.776-07:002012-03-27T04:58:14.776-07:00Lots of waterfowl in trees here, too. They may have been polymerizing into a Three Toed Woodpecker--pretty sure that's how science works.

Are you so skilled as a birder that you can age owlets just by expressions!? Pretty cool. The oldest one, looking tall and confident, and the sniveling middle owlet looking eager to please but bereft of attention.

Awesome post. You shouldn't have, but thanks.Laurence Butlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14766876797454283812noreply@blogger.com
