A day at my birdbath.

My friend Michele has been camera trapping her birdbath lately catching all kinds of cool birds while she's at work, from Wilson's Warbler to Spotted Towhee to Downy Woodpecker...  My birdbath is quite shameful in comparison, but more active than anticipated.

 American Crow

 Fox squirrel
 House Sparrows

 Western Scrub-Jay

 Eurasian Collared-Dove

 European Starling

 House Finch
 Song Sparrow blur

 White-crowned and House Sparrows

I think that's a goldfinch on this side of the bath

So... only about 9 bird species (Michele had 17 one day!) but interesting to see how the bath attracts different birds than the feeders.

  1. 9 species is still pretty cool, and it's good you didn't capture anything too shocking like a neighbor with boundary issues using your bird bath in the nude...or did you???

  2. Stand up, squirrel. You're drunk.

    1. That's a pro drinking position, right there.

  3. Excellent idea--and you got a good variety of species!

  4. I am way behind on my blog reading these days and just saw this. Maybe they are scared of the weird bird you have in there ;)? Keep it up and see what else shows up. I forgot to do it today. Still need to "capture" a tanager....
You need a dripper! Seriously. They LOVE it. Just as Darlene if you don't believe me. Best BB accessory ever.

    1. Ha, I have never been against drippers! I just don't have water access there.
